Clinical Pilates is a type of physical exercise that aims to improve body posture, muscle strengthening, balance, elasticity and proper breathing.
It’s about the classic Pilates method, BUT it is tailored to the needs of each individual trainee. It is aimed at men and women of all ages and fitness levels and adapts accordingly when there is a specific pathology such as chronic back pain, neck pain, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.
The Pilates method was originally inspired by the German gymnast Joseph Pilates (1883-1967), who designed a series of exercises to help injured soldiers during the First World War. His method initially emphasized in breathing and good posture, as well as strengthening the “stabilizing muscles of the trunk” or else core stability muscles that are inactivated in patients with back pain.
Clinical Pilates is particularly well-known in developed countries such as Australia and the UK and is an essential component of a complete rehabilitation program even after orthopaedic surgeries such as meniscal repair / anterior cruciate ligament repair surgery, hip / knee replacement etc. Clinical Pilates instructors are certified physiotherapists specialized in the Pilates method.
PHYSIOFIX offers both Clinical Pilates personal and group (3 to 6 people) sessions. You can choose between the Pilates Equipment (Reformer / Cadillac) and Pilates Mat with small equipment (medballs, therabands, foam rollers, dumbbells, etc.).
