Manual Therapy is a specialized approach to musculoskeletal physiotherapy. It is an integrated treatment method based on advanced clinical reasoning skills, mobilization-manipulation techniques, therapeutic exercises and counseling interventions.
The main difference between manual therapy and other methods of physiotherapy is that it uses evidence-based techniques that have been proven to be safe and effective.
The main purpose of manual therapy is to find the cause of pain so that treatment is targeted, effective and the results last over time. This is in contrast with former classic physiotherapy methods which are based on mechanotherapy and massage, alleviating only temporarily the symptoms of the patient.
PHYSIOFIX is one of the few certified manual therapy centers in Greece, recognized by the world’s leading manual therapy associations, such as the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) and the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMT).
